Quest Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of the Quest interactive story application, published by Indieloper.
Eligibility
Quest is intended for people aged 13 or older. If local law requires a parent or guardian to consent to your use, you may use Quest only with that consent.
The service
Quest creates interactive fictional stories with generative artificial intelligence. Generated content can be unexpected, incomplete, or inaccurate. It is entertainment, not professional, medical, legal, financial, or safety advice.
A private anonymous guest profile is created after you consent to cloud story generation. It is linked to the app installation rather than a recoverable email login. Reinstalling the app or clearing its data may permanently remove access to that profile and its stories.
Acceptable use
You may not use Quest to:
- violate applicable law or another person's rights;
- seek sexual content involving minors, actionable wrongdoing instructions, targeted hate, or encouragement of self-harm;
- probe, bypass, overload, automate abuse of, or interfere with the service or its safety and access controls;
- extract credentials, hidden instructions, or non-public service information;
- resell or misrepresent the service as your own.
We may block requests or profiles that threaten users, the service, or its providers.
Your content and generated stories
You keep any rights you have in themes and actions you submit. You give Indieloper a limited license to process that content only as needed to operate, secure, and improve Quest, handle reports, and meet legal obligations.
Rights in AI-generated content can vary by jurisdiction. We do not promise that generated text is unique or eligible for copyright protection.
Availability
The service depends on Firebase, server-selected AI providers such as Cerebras, OpenAI, Google, OpenRouter, and compatible inference services, network access, quotas, and other infrastructure. We may limit, suspend, change, or discontinue features to maintain security, safety, cost controls, or legal compliance. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or preservation of a guest profile.
Safety and reporting
Quest applies automated input and output checks, but no automated system is perfect. Use the in-app report action for content that appears unsafe or inappropriate. In an emergency or immediate risk situation, contact local emergency services rather than relying on Quest.
Disclaimer
To the maximum extent allowed by law, Quest is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, non-infringement, or uninterrupted operation.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, Indieloper is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, lost data, lost profits, or reliance on generated content arising from your use of Quest.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so these limits apply only to the extent permitted there.
Termination and deletion
You may stop using Quest at any time and delete the guest profile in Settings. We may restrict access for material or repeated violations of these terms or for security and legal reasons.
Changes
We may update these terms. The effective date above identifies the current version. Continued use after an update means you accept the updated terms where permitted by law.
